By John R
I watched all of these on TV when they were shown but it was great to go through them all again. Rays style and knowledge make this very interesting viewing. The extras are good and go in to more detailed instruction on sharpening knives and making nettle cordage, it's just a shame there aren't more tutorials on there.

Another fantastic series from Ray Mears. Exploring many different cultures, and illustrating the need of Bushcraft knowledge. This series rates amongst some of Ray's best work, 5 fantastic episodes are included, and some fantastic "extras". Previously, the Ray Mears series have somewhat dissapointed in terms of "extras". However, this time Ray shows basic skills, which are very useful in the field of bushcraft.
The series is thoroughly entertaining, and I admire Ray's respect for the wilderness, it is something to behold, the series is well worth watching, and I cant wait for the second part of the series to be released!

As always Ray's inspiring words make you want to pack up and move to some remote location there and then!

There just seems to be no limits to this guys bushcraft knowledge, I don't know how such a young man can achieve so much!

This title; as with all of Ray's titles, are watchable time and time again. If you enjoy bushcraft, survival or just like nature then you'll love this. I just can't get enough of this guy, living in the city these titles just inspire me to get out there and start enjoying this great world in which we live. It's just too easy to sit in and do next to nothing.

I'll explain why this series falls short. Ray Mears is a talented individual but that does not make him a teacher of bushcraft. Read more

Lose me, I'll be okay - I've seen Ray Mears on the telly.
In this series, Ray Mears shows us various techniques used by bush people from all over the world.

The technical aspects of how things are done are perfectly portrayed. Read more
