For a long time, I felt like Viginia Henley was loosing her touch. Her books had become banal: The stories were weak, the characters were underdeveloped and the plot was not fully flushed out. However, this book changes my opinion. Virginia Henley is back! This is the richest and most luscious story she has written since the early 90s when I first became enamoured of her armorous adventures! This one has got historical detail, vivid characters and the sparkling wit that has been missing in some of her recent work. Anyway, even when her books are stinkers, Virginia Henley's still the best in romance fiction.
