I bought this as a third birthday present for my niece. She knows the Tweenies, and the jigsaw is nice and big and bright, so was attractive to her and she found the peices easy to handle. What was great was that she doesn't know her alphabet yet, but each piece has a large picture linked to the letter - so there is "Jake" for the letter J, for example. So she happily finds these instead, and that incourages her to sound out the letter (I know most alphabet-based toys do this, but finding "Jake" is more fun than just finding the "jug" for example!). Her older sister (6) was also more than happy to help her with it.
I gave this to her approx. 3 weeks ago. She did the puzzle with me twice on her birthday, and with a few other relatives too. She also pulled it out to play with when I returned to see her a couple of weeks later, so she must have really liked it (she's too young for tact!) I have been told that she can now quite happily do it on her own.
So in conclusion: Educational, but good value and a definite hit with the birthday girl! What more could you want?...
