Product Description

Product Description

The waving, spinning, giggling game. Jolly the Octopus is sitting on a rock, sheltering lots of colourful little crabs. You have to take turns and try and pick up the colour-coded crabs with the tongs. This isn’t as easy as it sounds, because Jolly is trying to stop you by waving his tentacles and spinning around. But don’t worry if you touch Jolly – he won’t be cross – he’ll just giggle and laugh as you tickle him with the tongs. The first player to collect all 5 of their colour-coded crabs will win the game. Jolly Octopus has 2 different play settings, so as you become more expert with the tongs you can make the game more difficult, ensuring you get plenty of play value and fun. Game play is approximately 10 minutes. Winner of the Best New Game award 2010 from the British Toy and Hobby Association, Jolly Octopus is a game of skill suitable for 2-5 players, aged 4 years upwards.

Box Contains

  • 1 x Jolly Octopus head
  • 8 x Jolly Octopus arms
  • 1 x Pair of tongs
  • 20 x crabs (5 crabs in 4 different colours)
  • 1 x Set of rules and instructions

Got this for 4.5yr old - she likes it but I thought it would be better than it is but it is a simple game, she can play it on her own and it is very durable and at least it's very easy to set up and get going with it. Shame that you only get one pair of "tweezers" to work with so you have to pass them around but that's just a niggle. Robust toy which will last ages and the batteries seem to last a long time too in it.

This is a great game for children and adults. It is a lot of fun trying to catch the little crabs with the tweezer type things. Very entertaining and well worth buying :)

My son loves Octonauts but you can't get games etc for them . . . yet . . . but this was the next best thing.

It's a good toy, well made, colourful, easy to play and fun.

Just make sure all the pieces are there as you pack it away.

It is easy to assemble and put away.

This is a real Ronseal toy - what you see is what you get. You pluck plastic crabs from under the whirling (two speed) Octopus tenticles. There are some rule variations if you can be bothered (collect certain colours etc)It takes five minutes to set up initially and less to set up and takedoen in the future

It's plastic and cheap looking - but looks fab and is dead engaging, my 4 year old chortles along at it and we can get 15 minutes of genuine playtime out of it - ten more if you leave him to play with the toy but not play the game!

Fort less than a tenner it's been a good hit - nope it won't help the little fella get a scholarship... but it is fun!

I really liked the idea of this game and reviews were good, but it's useless. The Octopus goes too fast even in easy mode for a 4year old and stops and starts giggling before we've gone anywhere near it, so impossible to play. Maybe I have a dodgy one but it's unplayable. It's so bad I wouldn't even waste someone's money putting it in a charity shop!

It is very small. It comes apart easily. It does not always work well.
When it is working properly it is an ok game but not up there with the great ones. It is not good for children over 5, they soon get bored with it.

I bought this for my 5 year old son for christmas, it didn't hold his attention for very long. It is ideal for a quick 5 or 10 minute game before dinner or something, quick and easy to set up and put away.

I bought this for my nieces aged 6 and 8and they played with it for around 5 minutes. It is very easy to play and the octopus goes around very slowly so not much fun. It will be going to the charity shop.
