Hi, I am a vegetarian looking for a 'vegetable recipe bible' type of book. I read some great reviews for Sarah Raven's Garden Cookbook and wondered if there are many meat recipes in there? Obviously not expecting anyone to count them and send me a data analysis with statistics :-) But leafing through the book, would you say there is a wide variety of recipes without meat? If there are any vegetarians out there who have Sarah Raven's book and could tell me whether a veggie would find a good variety of recipes in the Garden Cookbook, that would be great. Or if you know of any good vegetable bibles out there that would be helpful too (I have Leith's vegetable bible and Rose Elliott's Complete Vegetarian already). Thanks so much!
Very late but I'm a veggie and this is one of my favourite cookbooks. It's very geared towards using up garden vegetables and I feel that even in recipes which have meat in them, the meat is often quite incidental, and not the main focus.
On other books, the Madhur Jaffrey world vegetarian one is great. And there is a Delia collection of veggie recipes which is also excellent.
