Very nice. Great results roasting this in small batches in both frying pan and popcorn maker. Unbelievable aroma when ground and tasted brilliant. Before and after photo.

I have now added a YouTube video showing these beans roasting quickly in a popcorn maker - details in the video comments https://youtu.be/8Xe5KHZUqUA

I recently bought a range of different green coffees for roasting at home and this Ethiopian Sidamo stood out as my favourite. This was my first go at roasting my own coffee and it turned out to be incredibly easy. I tried a range of different roasting levels and this Ethiopian Sidamo proved the best, whether lightly or highly roasted. On the light roast, it was noticeably less acidic and more fruity than Indian Monsoon Malabar or Sumatran Mandheling. At the high end of roasting, it also maintained more of its characteristic flavours than the other beans. The only slight negative point is that the beans had not been cleaned as well as the others, and there were at lot of husks that had to be removed though this is easily achieved after roasting.

The first time I've bought green coffee beans and definitely not the last - so delicious! Had some prepared in this way in an Ethiopian restaurant & wanted to try. After checking a few websites & youtube videos for tips, I just roasted them carefully about 10 mins in my frying pan(the smell is heavenly), then ground them and made coffee in pot straightaway (roughly as they do in Ethiopia). Also used filter method, which is good too. Roasted beans keep as long as normal, but great thing is the green beans keep up to a year - ours will certainly get used much sooner!
Thanks Rave for making it so easy for me to buy a superb quality product I would find very difficult to get on the high street.
