While UB40 are known by many for their cover versions of famous songs, in my opinion they are best when playing their own material, and every song on this CD is one of their own.

The production, arrangement and musicianship is impeccable, but most impressive of all are the melodies: it's hooks within hooks, so good you'll be singing them for weeks.

The hits "Sing Our Own Song" and "Rat In Mi Kitchen" speak for themselves, but there is a greater variety of music on this CD than these would suggest. Some darker themes and deeper grooves are evident, and in their own way the other songs on the album are the equals of the hits.

If in doubt, buy it!

I bought this album originally back in 1986 and was the first UB40 album I bought. It turned me into fan.So many good songs on it including the singles Sing our own song, Watchdogs, All I want to do and the title track Rat in mi kitchen. My personal faves are Tell it like it is and You could meet somebody. I couldn't recommend this cd highly enough, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

im not a great fan of ub40- but i really enjoyed this album. i had it years ago and was glad i was able to get it back. one of my favourite albums. 11 out of ten. arrived on time and in perfect condition.
