Works, but falls apart regularly 13 Oct. 2010
By Heather V - Published on Amazon.com

This brayer gets the job done, but not without some challenges along the way. About every 10th time I use it the wheel falls off and I have to reattach it. The pins on the side allow me to do so fairly easily, but there should be better construction to prevent it from happening in the first place!

Simple fix for this brayer's problems 11 Sept. 2011
By George Johnson - Published on Amazon.com
Purchased this type of brayer from the local Craft Store. Simply put, this brayer is not well constructed for durability in the pin area and tends to separate from the handle easily, however, the fix is rather easy and cheap. Firstly, get yourself some Loc-Tite brand superglue (or just regular superglue), pull the poorly designed pin off the side of the brayer roller, put a few drops of superglue in the hole, insert pin, wait until the glue dries and you should be good to go. Secondly, to fix the problem of the brayer roller popping out of the poorly designed handle, get some rubber bands and loop these around the thinnest part of the handle near the brayer roller where it squeezes together. This will keep the handle in one piece, still allow roller removal later, and prevent the natural twisting of the bent rod handle which allows the brayer roller to pop out. It's a cheapo brayer design, but it works for the most part.

I use it to squish page folds flat enough for paper folding usually. I have used it for vinyl application, but it appears to not be hard enough for that to force squeeze out trapped air bubbles with dry application. The roller cylinder is a medium hardness rubber. Squishy, but not gel-squishy. Hard enough for pressing, but not hard enough to crush surfaces like a rolling pin. It will pick up ink (designed to do that and listed as such on the product packaging) from dry pages underneath, haven't tried the wet ink application usage yet.

Expected better 15 Jun. 2013

Because it's from Ranger I expected better. The handle is not comfortable to grip and the bars tend to cross over one another while using it. This was the first crafting brayer I had ever purchased and had I known I would have bought a different brand, one with a solid grip.

Great 11 Sept. 2012

I have been needing something to roll the glue from under my projects so they lay flat without bubbles and this is the thing. Makes projects so much easier. So glad I found it.
Purchased this product because of a recommendation. 22 Nov. 2014

I haven't use it yet, but I bought it because a friend of mine has one and she highly recommended it to me. She uses this brayer with inks and acrylic paint, stencils, etc., and produces beautiful work. It looks to be very well made; I can't wait to start using it!
