I bought 3 of these as winter is kicking in and the dark knights are here, so these I thought would be able to stop on longer and still cost less in running.

The construction of the cast case is really good and held together with stainless steel allen bolts all round. However the stalk holding the PIR is a cheap plastic, on of which broke while on the bench setting. While I was familiarizing myself with the timer and LUX this just snapped clean off.

The PIR also can not be move horizontally (left to right) just vertically (up and down).

A second lamp would not stop on for more than 28 seconds, bit short as the time scale states 5 secs - 12 mins +/-.

The third lamp fitted and left to the elements. I hope that the 3 year warranty is not needed as the SMD is not replaceable.

If you look at the enlargement image of the box you will see all the 'quick at a glance' boxes showing the lamp has, LUX, TIMER, and SENSOR, (the 3 dials on the bottom of the PIR). Well there is NO SENSOR, so the light is unable to be adjusted other than LUX & TIME, quite important for setting of different situations, even an own brand light from a large DIY center has this setting.

Bought three when they were < £25. Definitely worth it at this price, but probably not at a higher price.

Main gripe; there's no latch-on facility like you get with most regular flood lights with PIRs.

Also, one of the 3 was DOA. Not a great indicator of quality, although the other two have been up over a year and haven't had a single issue with them.

Very Disappointed, attracted to these because of low energy use and supposed long life!, Within 1 month one had failed, then the remaining 4 worked ok for about 6 months then one by one they have failed. Right now. 1 does not work at all, 2 emit about 5% of their original light, 2 come on inconsistently flicker through a range of about 5-30% of their original light or occasionally do not work at all. This was obviously not a product ready for market. The most annoying thing is the extra I paid to get someone to fit them for me.

I purchased this lamp a long time back to replace a 500 watt lamp quite impressive going from 500 to 30 watts. I got this lamp at the lower price so was quite happy. I found that the lamp was of good quality but the PIR was next to useless, it is a rubbishy plastic bit of junk. However this to me was not an issue I removed the PIR and fitted an indipendent PIR so this lamp has been in operation now for a few years with no issues at all, the light given off for a 30 watt light is really excellent. I would recommend this light from my own personal experience of using this light.
