Randy (born Veronica Crawford) is a brilliant American soul singer who had a UK top five hit (Street life) as un-credited vocalist with the Crusaders in 1973, then had two UK top five hits (One day I'll fly away, Almaz) in the eighties as a solo singer. Randy never achieved this level of success in her homeland.
Apart from those three major hits, Randy had two other UK top twenty hits (You might need somebody, Rainy night in Georgia) and several minor hits, all of which are included here, these being Imagine (a live recording), He reminds me, Last night at dance land, Secret combination, Nightline, Give me the night, Diamante (with Zucchero) and One hello. Most of the songs here are originals but, with her outstanding voice, Randy is a great interpreter of other people's songs, as this collection shows with her covers of such classics as Knocking on heaven's door, At last, This old heart of mine and What a difference a day makes as well as Imagine.
This comprehensive collection truly is the very best of Randy Crawford, one of the finest soul singers there has ever been.

I don't know a great deal about Randy Crawford's music, though I remember her big hits (i.e. 'Street Life', 'You Might Need Somebody', 'Almaz' and 'One Day I'll Fly Away' - all of which are included on this double CD), but I'm so glad I bought this CD. Pure listening pleasure song after song - I can never work out why people like Randy Crawford, Dorothy Moore and Ruby Winters were not given the credit they truly deserved. Superb voices, equally brilliant songs - and such delivery. Do yourself a big favour and buy this CD today - you won't regret it. I certainly didn't. Come back Randy - show the 'singers' of today what a real soul voice should sound like!

"Absoulutely!" This is absolutely Randy Crawford at her very best and so difficult to choose one song to mention as being the best as all are quite literally gems in their own right in a musical treasure chest but "One Hello" is especially lovely ! Here is a singer who puts her heart n'soul into every song sung by her and what an amazing voice! One much like the late and great Minnie Ripperton is equally inimitable. It would be a crime therefore for anyone appreciative of musical star quality to miss out on adding this selection to their musical collections !

Sublime, what more can I say - simply awesome. Buy it without hesitation you will not be disappointed. Eclipses all contemporary dance music chanteuses by a universe or two.

Fabulous! I've not heard much of her lately but then I played the CD,s. I cannot think of a bad track. I find that I keep repeat playing most of the tracks I find it hard to move on. What is apparent throughout is the great playing from the band. Its great value and one that is being exclusively played in my car.

I listen to this all the time, so many good tracks and some great cover versions. If you like Randy Crawford this is the best album, as all her classic tracks and a lot more besides. My favourite track is Give me the night(which is a George Benson track, I like this version better that the original, and that is rare.), it is pure gold. I do a lot of dancing, ie Ceroc and Blues, this album has so many good tracks for this style of dancing. Cannot rate it highly enough.

This CD was everything I remembered from the days when I used to drive around listening to Randy Crawford singing on a tape in a player on the passenger seat in my old Avenger - and more, because there are so many tracks on the CD, many of them new to me. All my old favourites are there, particularly "One Day I'll Fly Away", "Almaz", "Rainy Night in Georgia", "Rio de Janiero Blue", "Secret Combination", and of course "Street Life". It took me quite a few days to hear the whole of it because I don't do long journeys due to my arthritis, but it definitely improved my driving experience! Ms Crawford's voice has that distinctive slight quiver that sends shivers down your spine and really gets your attention. A really good value for money CD for anyone thinking of buying it, and a great listening experience.

This album is a replacement ! When I first heard it it was pleasure to the ears. Randy has a beautiful unique voice which has not hanged form her early years. The double album is value for money as there are so many songs.
