1023 was amazing. It's one of my most played albums. Songs such as I Cry have done very well in the German alternative charts. I am a fan of alternative electronic music. I mainly listen to Cesium 137, Seabound, Assemblage 23, De-Vision, VNV Nation and of course Rotersand from this genre. So if you like some of these other bands, try it... But I'd ask you to try 1023 first.

This album is generally heavier than 1023, but not by much. It still has that distrinct Rotersand flavour from previous albums. I love the way tracks evolve into new riffs and changes in synth sounds/textures before looped sections are overdone, taking the listener on a journey, rather than sticking to samey-loops that are over accessible like most modern electronic pop. On a different note, I'm convinced the lead vocalist sounds likes Neil Tennant from the Pet Shop Boys on some tracks! This is a good selection and a close second to 1023. I'd rate a little higher than Welcome To Goodbye.

My only gripe is the audio mixing. This album sounds noteably compressed and the bass is far too high. My sensitive audiophile system was in bass overload! Some Cesium 137 albums have increased bass, but this one is far louder than anything I have. I've had to re-process the CD and reduce the lower bass by around 3.5db with a slow ramp off to the lower midrange. Now it sounds much better and balanced. I guess the compression will have to stay, but it's not too significant. I guess many dance floor orientated CDs mastered for club playback tend to be compressed as they generally can sound better at loud volumes.

5/5 for the music. 3/5 for the mastering. 4/5 overall.

Random is Resistance 15 Jan. 2010
By E. Anderson - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
I am a big fan of Rotersand. I discovered them a few years ago when I bought their Welcome to Goodbye album on a whim. I really dug the obvious Pink Floyd influence in their songs. I finally got around to buying the band's new album Random is Resistance after hearing samples of the new album on the internet. I was definitely not disappointed with Random is Resistance. The band once again showed their Pink Floyd influence in the opening songs "Yes, We Care" and from there the beat of the music gradually builds up to full-fledged dance music. I am particularly fond of "First Time" and "Gothic Paradise". The songs are very catchy and I find myself humming along to the songs quite a bit. There isn't a single song on the album that I did not like. I hope one day I will get the opportunity to see the band live. I can only imagine how great they would sound live.

Electronic Body Music (EBM) Awesomeness ! 6 May 2011
By Jose Caballero - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
This is a very nicely balanced EBM album. Every song on the album is good and each has its own unique identity. If you like VNV Nation, Apoptygma Berzerk, Covenant, De/Vision or similar bands, pick-up this album. I think it's one of the best EBM albums I've ever heard. Every time I listen to it, I find myself dancing to the music (embarrassing at work!)

This album is mind blowing in it's format, musicality, and lyrics.
A nice, big, fat, middle finger to the system, the man, whatever. Love the band, love this album. If they had a "mainstream" sound they would be rolling in awards and money with this album.
If you like A23, VNV, Seabound, Aesthetic Perfection, etc., it is certainly worth your time to check these guys out!

THE BEST SYNTH BAND OUT THERE! 15 Dec. 2009
By MAXBORT - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
Let me start by saying that I totally agree with the previous reviewer.. ROTERSAND is probably the best Band creating this kind of exiting, dark synth music right now, and yes they're definitely better than VNV Nation, Apoptygma Berzerk, Covenant and even better than And One. The other bands that can play on this's band same league, are Seabound, Assemblage 23, Melotron, and the also super talented... Mind In A Box...

The catchines of this band's music is so addicted that you can almost go insane!

Random Is Resistance by Rotersand is a spectacular synth album, great electronic music with personality.

An instant classic!!!

By P. Buche - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
Sorry to offend you, but when it comes to futurepop music...........................Rottersand is the best. Yes, better than Covenant, Apoptygma Berzerk, And One, and even Vnv Nation. This album is incredible, this band is incredible, and nobody else making futuristic synthpop industrial beats even comes close. Great album!
