This is the third of the Bardville series and like the other two it involves a romance between two very different people and a teenaged boy as the catalyst.

Hannah is on the ranch because of business whereas Dax owns his ranch and is bringing up his son by himself. They seem ill matched but they find themselves growing together when Dax dates Hannah to try and set a good example for his son.

There is nothing surprising about this book, in fact you could probably outline the whole plot from a one sentence synopsis but it is good of its type. It is well written with excellent descriptions of the way of life and the scenery. It could perhaps have done with a bit more of a bite and been a little less predictable but if you like gentle romances then you will enjoy this very much.

This is an awesome series of books. I like these western ranch books cause I can relate to the ranch, I work on one myself but as for the romance actually being like that in real life is not true but l still like the books. If you like these kind of books definitely must read them. Patricia McLinn is a really good author keep it up and you will have me reading all of your western romances.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Rancher Meets His Match 8 Aug 2011

This is the last of the Bardville trilogy and I am sad, I don't want it to be the last. In book 1. Brodie stole my heart, in book 2. Cully took my breath away and in book three I fell in love with Dax. The women in this book are strong and the men not threatened by them, the women stand on there own two feet, but it is clear that they also want a strong man and these books give them that. More please.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome ending to the trilogy 23 Jan 2014

I loved all three of the books in this trilogy. Dax could be a little offputting at times, but that is his character so it is warranted. Hannah was a great character. It was as if I was going through everything with her. I loved the addition of the teen characters in these books as well. It really made it realistic. I can't wait to read more by Patricia McLinn.
