A brilliant little book with the clearest route instructions that I have found. maps for walks are extremely good too though the route marked does slightly obscure the detail of the map; however this was not a real issue because the written instructions were so clear.
Information about the walk was also accurate so you had an idea of the type of walk before starting out.
So good that I bought two others from the same series. Five star and fully recommended.

Bought to go on holiday this summer. Brilliant selection of walks in the area. We planned our days out to include one of the walks. The walks are of varing lengths and take in some fantastic countryside and views. Great for getting out in the countryside with a 5 year old and 10 year old. Also got them looking at OS maps.

Just back from a weekend using this book. The descriptions are spot on, including timings. Nothing too challenging though if that's what you're after.

Bought this book for a trip up to Yorkshire Moors and although we only completed one walk so far from the book I have to say the guidance and maps were followed without any problems.

A Family of four two adults, two children teenagers of reasonable fitness managed to do Captain cooks monument and Roseberry Topping (small mountain). The walk took about 4 hours not 3 as the book suggests, but that was mostly probably due to our fitness levels and having to stop frequently, it was more of a challenge to do than I thought but it probably is one of the tougher walks in the book, most of the others don't envolve steep climbing.

Overall I would recommend the book to other people as the book is well laid out with good directions and a small map of the route, we didn't get lost once and the route and directions were easy to follow, I realise this is only based on one walk but if they are all as well written then the rest should follow suite.

I also liked the fact the book is nice and compact and fits easily into a big pocket or rucksack.

I really enjoyed the walks I did using this book, particularly Roseberry Topping and Barnsdale and Rosedale Moors. Very clear and straightforward instructions, some history and local culture to start with and an idea of what to expect. Lovely pictures too. Highly recommended.

As with most walking books, the start of most walks is unclear (park near the church and walk down the street. Which way?) so a lot of time wasted. Otherwise it's a nice litle book to carry and the majority of routes are clear. It's nice to have a book dedicated to short walks.

I purchased this book ready for my holiday in September, so I have not used it yet. There are lots of walks in the area of the North Yorkshire Moors where I am staying so I look forward to using this book while on holiday. It contains lots of information with clear maps.
