Excellent for motorsport enthusiasts,

I couldn't put this book down because it is just packed with tales about how international co-drivers started out and how to start in rallying. From the first chapter, an introduction to Road Rallying, to the last, by Derek Ringer (Britains last world champion codriver), it is a very good read.

Great overview of Rally Navigation,
By Cole Trickle "Cole" (Coventry, UK) - See all my reviews

I was recommended this book before I embarked on my new (expensive) hobby of Rally Navigation. Since then I have competed in 12 car nav runs and National Stage Rallies. The book covers all the bases and is a handy guide but each chapter is really just an overview with a lot of time devoted to the experiences of people involved in the world of navigation. I would rather have seen more examples of how to plot and bash routes and when to call pace notes rather than having to read through pages of people's experiences to glean titbits of information.

Excellent resource, both broad in scope and deep in detail.,
By Will Wood (thisisnotapipe@hotmail.com) - Published on Amazon.com

"Rally Navigation" provides a great deal of insight into several different aspects of rally racing. While the lion's share of the book focusses on what it takes to make it as a successful rally co-driver, Holmes also explores rally organization, logistics and coordination and each chapter is given over to someone who works on a different aspect of the rally world. Derek Ringer (World Champion 1995) has the final chapter and the Forward. If you are interested in any aspect of rally--especially co-driving, this book is a must have.

Interesting, but not really a "how-to",
By Neil A. Smith "neiltbag" - Published on Amazon.com

Each chapter is worth reading for the insights from the experts, but don't expect to learn how to read an FIA timecard, put together a shipping plan for an overseas event or work out which intercom is the best.

Rally Navigation "Advice",
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Rally Navigation: Develop Winning Skills with Advice from the Experts (Paperback)
The title says it all. This book is filled with "Advice" from the experts but there is hardly any information on actually navigating. I have read this book and heard a lot of nice stories but I am still more or less clueless on what to do. I am rating this book 2 starts because it lacks information on how to navigate.
