very disappointed,
This review is from: Raleigh Stash Unisex Folding Bike - Silver, 20 Inch (Sports)
I ordered the first bike on 17th of March, and it was delivered 4 days later. There's no proper manual attached, but let say it's not really difficult to unfold it. Don't even think about taking it on the streets, as long as you checked all of them nuts and screws by yourself (including brakes) or if you think about suicide, just don't do anything just ride the bike as it is... As Vegapunk pointed it out, there is no lock or anything that could hold the bike together, when it's folded. Plastic catch that holds the bike together does not really look safe and there is probably no way to tighten it up properly, so you can see little gap between all the time (I just hope that this bike will not gonna kill me some day) I got used to this bike after 1,5 week, and the ride is not really that bad, it's true, that seat if uncomfortable, but you can get use to this as well after 2 weeks time it would be nice to have some more gears, but 6 is fair enough for the bike of this size I didn't expect that much from this bike to be honest, because it supposed to be a bike, that should do just 10 miles/day, 5 days/week and it was doing fine till some point After 4 weeks of use, nut, that was holding left hand side crank, began to unscrew by itself, I went to the cycle shop, they tightened it up, but after 2 days crank just fell down, I went there again, and they said, it's completely damaged, so I bought a new one (£13 cost) and it last literally only 2 miles, I went there again next day to diagnose the problem, and they said, that the bottom brocket is faulty, (so I returned that new crank and they gave me my money back) and they told me to send the bike back, what I just did 1 week ago. I asked for replacement, so they send me a new one by Next day delivery. When I had unpacked the bike, I could see, that it had already few things, that were not right: small stand was bended, carrier - one piece of it was not flat as it should be, so it couldn't really do it's job as it should do as I didn't send the broken one yet, I swapped those stand & carrier, and I thought that now everything will be fine. but it looks like it wasn't... I'm not sure yet, but it looks like problem with the same side crank is showing up again with this new bike, if this will be true, then it will leave me with only option - refund / Even before I got the 2nd bike I bought myself: Draper Y Socket Wrench 12 / 13 / 14mm Sockets on eBay, just to be sure, that the crank is tigthened up properly (as 14mm wrench key is not included) and I tightened it up, but it already unscrewed little bit once, so I don't know if I should start to worry again... / P.S. Don't buy it, if you really don't have to (no one want to stress himself/herself unnecessarily, right?) ---- I know that my review looks probably little bit chaotic, but that's because my english is not as good as I wanted it to be, so sorry for any problems with reading it ----

Deathtrap,
This review is from: Raleigh Stash Unisex Folding Bike - Silver, 20 Inch (Sports)
This is the first time I've written a review on amazon, normally I dont bother, but I felt it was important in this case.I bought this item about 2 weeks ago, and it has a large number of issues. First and most importantly the catch used to hold it in place when unfolded is prone to coming undone whilst riding! This has begun to happen more often since I got. Worth bearing in mind, I ride it for just over an hour a day and have had it only 2 weeks so it really shouldnt be down to wear and tear. It's possible I was unlucky and got a faulty product however that is only one of many issues faced with this bike: The bike folds very large and does not lock when folded, making it incredibly awkward on trains The gears are sticky The bike skids out of control on small bumps or cracks and struggles to mount pavements Riding is generally unstable Seat is uncomfortable I advise buyers to look elsewhere, probably better off with a Brompton, it is much less likely to kill you

this bike is not as bad as other reviews have made out. perhaps they were unlucky, perhaps i was lucky, but i have had no problems at all. true, it struggles to mount a kerb, but what do you expect with the small wheels of a folder? true, it's a wobbly ride until you get used to it, but the same is true of all folders. i've had mine for about four months now, riding daily to work and the gym (20 miles /week), and have only had one problem - a flat tyre, which can hardly be blamed on the bike itself.
