I bought this bike about 8-9 months ago (not through Amazon). It's put up with a daily commute, has lived outside for a period, and has undergone stints of 100 mile plus journeys. It's in no way ideal; the brakes need fortnightly adjustments and the gear location is very dated but, having said that, this bike has been extremely good to me. I paid £210 for this bike and feel it's worth almost every penny. I found the price (cheap by road bike standards) very reasonable and I have no issues when leaving it chained up in certain areas of my city

I've been riding 7 miles on my commute every day on this bike for the last 6 months and its performed fantastically.
The only thing I'd recommend is only build it if you have somebody who knows what they are doing - the gears and brakes will require a lot of playing with at first.
Also make sure you tighten all the spokes (by hand or with a key) when you get it out of the box - if not the wheels will buckle very easily. As its a cheap bike the wheels are not the best quality but will perform well if you don't abuse them riding through pot holes etc.

The bike looks great and certainly moves.
The problem is it does not stop.
The brakes fitted are not anywhere near good enough to stop the bike. You ride, pull the brakes and s-l-o-w-l-y come to a stop. Raleigh should be ashamed of themselves for producing a death-trap that young teens will be riding.
Also - if you are thinking of buying this bike for a young person - don't. The handlebars are mounted with the aheadset fitting which means the height cannot be adjusted to fit the size of that person as they grow.
