After reading the other review i had been looking for a cheep heart rate monitor and thought this would be perfect! How wrong could I have been!!! The heart rate only works when it wants to and when its not even on the bike if you press a button it thinks its moving and the speed goes up and the timer starts. I have been riding bikes using speedos for years and this is the first to show I was doing over 50 mph on a flat! I set it up acording to all the instructions as I am anal like that and when it displays an average heart rate of 222 there must be somthing very wrong. I have tried all the problem solving tips and still nothing it is going to be returned asap. Hope this was helpful.

For the price, this is a great buy. Most multi function computers, and/or HRMs would be this much alone. But more to the point - it works ! I must admit the set-up is critical, as the sensor only seems to have 2mm of tolerance (as quoted in instructions), so getting the positioning of the reader is critical - I solved this by mounting it on the chain-stay rather than front fork, which is probably preferable anyway as the reader is perhaps slightly on the large side, and therefore looks much cleaner tucked away. I have had absolutely no problems with transmission distances, as has been mentioned in other reviews; and this includes using the HRM off the bike - the 'computer' itself being so small and light, that it can easily be stashed in a pocket or even sleeve. Yes the unit on first appearance seems ridiculously light and 'plasticy' - but it hasn't given me any problems - and the readings certainly seem to be both accurate, and very consistent. This is a perfect entry level unit, or cheap addition to a second training bike. The Heart Rate Monitor strap itself is more comfortable than many more expensive items.

This is a brilliant piece of kit for the price. For the recreational rider it is a very useful tool and is very easy to assemble and setup.HeartRate Monitors/Computers I have had before that were far more expensive have not been as reliable. As soon as you put on the chest strap the monitor shows the heart rate and as soon as you remove the strap after the ride it gives the average HR.Also having the calorie counter/fat buster is a fun option. All in all highly recommended product.

On my newish road bike I have an all-singing, all-dancing wireless jobbie with cadence (pedalling speed) because with shifters integrated into the brake levers it's so easy to change between the 20 gears, it's really easy to keep my cadence right in my ideal 80-90 range.

For my old road bike with downtube shifters I wanted the usual speed, distance, trip, average speed etc but didn't need cadence because it's such a faff to change gear (and there are only 10 of them) that I do so as little as possible. All a cadence reading would tell me was that I was almost always pedalling too fast or too slow, which I already know. However, I did want heart rate.

I've noticed that if I'm feeling fresh and keen I start a ride quite quickly and end up knackered after not too long. Trying to keep my heart rate down, especially early on, stops the 'too fast too soon' problem and means I can cycle further before running out of steam. I'm doing a sportive in Tuscany later in the year on my old bike and I really would like to finish it, hence the HRM.

It's brilliant! I put the chest band on and started it going as I fitted the wheel magnet and sensor. It picked up my heart almost immediately. At first my heart rate seemed to fluctuate between 190 (am I dying?) and 25 (I am dying!), but soon it settled out. Once I'd got the magnet and sensor fitted I spun the front wheel and after a few seconds - there was my bike doing 12mph in my living room. Excellent stuff! And all for just £25. Possibly my best purchase so far this year.

Spent a few days researching the market and decided to take a chance on this as it is VERY much cheaper than any other wireless computer with a built in HRM. Fitted it three days ago, took about 20 mins to position, calibrate and check following very clear and precise instructions. All is working beautifully and the heart rate monitor has added a completely new dimension to my training and enjoyment. A super bit of kit which also fits very snugly and simply on the bike. Well done Raleigh!

When I first saw this last year I wondered if it was too good to be true and I have to say it was. It has never worked properly. The heartrate monitor starts well then just goes off into a world of its own before deciding not to give out any readings any more.

The speedo works for a while and then goes off. This is so frustrating because each time I stop the bike and check the location of the sensor etc and then set off again. I even reset the sensor on the wheel and remove and replace the battery. Sometimes it works but most of the time it doesn't and there seems to be no rhyme or reason to it.

I have replaced the batterie so many times I have lost count. Now after about nine months of messing about with the damned thing it is going back.

You can't beat this for value, to all those's saying it doesn't do this and that, you have to change all 3 batteries as it's probably been sitting around for a couple of years on a shelf. Mine works perfectly after doing this. use your loaf !!!
