I've read this book a few times, so I can say that this is a fairly good novel. The story is both exciting and can keep you entertained, but the characters lack the charm of better written stories and the religious aspect is so overdone that it impedes the story. Bible quotes are used to an extent that makes the characters feel very flat. To be honest, the books central protagonist is a bit TOO good to be true. So,yes it is a decent novel, but in the fantasy genre there are a long list of books that surpass this one.

Raising Dragons 8 April 2011
Format:Paperback
Again no rating except the site doesn't accept zero stars. My previous revie still obtains as below. My wife agrees entirely with the assessment of this series.

I don't rate this item AT ALL except the site won't accept zero stars.
Together with the others in the series it is probably the slowest, most derivative, most boring, least exciting, most geographically and socially unimaginative childrens' book I have ever come across.
The unending tears of the heroine (not those of the dragon)become so knee-jerk as to be ludicrous.
The somewhat syrupy evangelical Christian influences throughout become tedious.
I bought the series thinking them to be OK for grandchildren.
I wouldn't inflict them with them.
They have gone to our church jumble sales.
