4.0 out of 5 stars Raising Chickens at Home 20 Sept. 2012
By Cool Stan - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This was a quick and easy read in order to gain some knowledge on raising chickens for egg production at home. I do not plan on expanding my 4 chicken limit. The book told me one thing I did not know, that was the question of getting a rooster. The book saved me the hassle of getting a rooster and it increased my egg production by not including one in my purchase. Overall, the book was informative and helpful for the beginner like myself.

3.0 out of 5 stars Raising Chickens 15 Oct. 2012

This book is good for beginners, as it has lots of information about a lot of different aspects of chicken keeping. It doesn't go too in depth, mostly covers the surface. It was an easy read (took me about an hour). It wasn't quite what I expected, I guess I have advanced beyond the "beginner" stage since it didn't exactly give me any new information.

5.0 out of 5 stars Helpful 3 Mar. 2014
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com

Being fairly new to raising chickens this book was informative. Growing up my mom had chickens. I didn't really pay much attention to them other than to laugh at their antics. Chickens are much better than summer TV any day. Now that I'm starting my own flock this book helped with the basic know how.

3.0 out of 5 stars Helpful info, but hard to read. 31 Oct. 2013

I'm just getting into researching chickens, and hope to have a small flock someday. I appreciated that this booklet was short and gave helpful answers. However it was repetitive, and had so many grammatical mistakes that it was distracting.

1.0 out of 5 stars A lot to say about nothing· 7 April 2013

I personally found this book seriously lacking - the author proposes great questions, she just never answers them. Ex: what makes a good coop? Well that can depend on many factors. Next subject......
