'Raise The Dead' is the fourth album from American outfit Phantom Planet and their first for Fueled By Ramen. Produced by Tony Berg (Public Image Limited, Squeeze) the album movesaway from the pop-orientated sound of their previous releases, instead opting for a more rock driven sound whilst lyrically being inspired by cult leaders such as Charles Manson and David Koresh.

if you're looking for a reason why people haven't reviewd this album look no further.
Raise the dead is a contiuation of the excelent Phantom planet. However when i listened to it with anticipation i was underwelmed. there are a few good songs, but generally a lot more bad songs.
some with the same punchy style as phantom planet, but starting the album with the same kind of "we could write a song that will change the world" as anthem displayed annoyed me a little (call me a cynic but i thought they'd got over that).
there are good songs on this album, don't get me wrong, Dropped, Too much too often and leave yourself.. are great.
But if you want an album packed with great songs get phantom planet. it's better.

I felt compelled to write a review on ths album as there aren't any currently.

I am only a recent fan of Phantom Planet after seeing Alex Greenwald (lead singer) do the Mark Ronson cover of Radiohead's Just. I wanted to know who he was as I really liked his voice so did some research on You Tube and discovered Phantom Planet. The OC and the song California passed me by so I had no idea who they were.

Loved this album from the moment I receved it and that surprised me as usually it takes a while for me to warm to an album. The tunes are catchy and powerful. I now have all their albums and love them all with Raise The Dead being my favourite.

I will resist the urge to describe their music but would recommend visiting their MySpace page, their own website, You Tube as well as Amazon.com where there are more samples of their different albums including this one to check them out. My favourites on the album are Confess, Dropped and Raise the Dead (I will stop there as pulling only 3 out is quite difficult - I love them all).

I hope they come and tour the UK in the future as I for one will be at the head of the queue.
