This little torch has it all.
It retracts into an even smaller size and fits in pockets easily so doesn't weigh down backpacs.
The light is really surprisingly bright for something so small with only a few LEDs. Shines to an amazing distance and a full charge lasts ages with just the odd top up from the dynamo.
We use the torch taking our dog for a walk often in pitch black conditions through the woods and it is more than adequate.
Another advantage with this particular torch is that you can fully charge it quickly from a USB on your computer or laptop whereas the car charger takes ages by comparison.
Highly recommended product in terms of value and quality.

I've been delighted with the flexibility of this torch. I've found the strength of light and width of beam ideal for night-walking. With 4 different lighting options - 2 different light strengths, plus red static and SOS flashing lights - and an extendable body which varies the beam width, the torch covers all bases. A carrying strap means you can hitch it to a belt and there's a metal handle too so you can easily hang it up in a tent as a lantern. Add to all that the fact that it really seems to hold its charge with very little winding and you have an incredibly well designed torch cum lantern that will serve you well in so many different situations. I highly recommend it.

Good value for the price and you bought 2 birds with 1 stone for this product as it is a torch and at thesame time a lantern.Actually bought 4 of this item in total. 2 to be given as present and 2 for personnal use during emergency. last long for a a couple of minutes winding. i havent tried if it is realy rain proof but if it lives as described it would be an additional bonus
