THis is Mundy's third album but is very different from the first two. Although his second '24 Star Hotel' used more technology, Raining Down Arrows is more back to basics. That said it has a very broad sound and there's echoes of Steve Earle, Lucinda Williams and Bruce Springsteen through out, There's classic singles like 'By Her Side' and 'Love & Confusion' which really should be on the radio all the time but there's also mellower moments like 'You're The One' (a simple breathy love song) and the amazing title track Raining Down Arrows, a resigned love song with a swollen and epic chorus. It's taken a while but Mundy is really proving himself to be a great songwriter. He's really built up a great catalogue of songs, well worth checking out.
