Take a trip to Rainbow Street by Sherston and meet the people who help us to stay healthy and safe. This carefully constructed CD gently supports young children in developing their understanding of different roles in society and why these roles matter, whilst also helping develop vocabulary, listening, observation and thinkiing skills.
The CD covers fire-fighters, police, paramedics, doctors, nurses and dentists. in the Visit Rainbow Street section children can :
choose a house
choose a person to live in it
choose a job for that person
choose a place where that person works
choose a way they might help us and we might help them
In the Play Activities area, there is a choice of four activities:
dress a person in the right uniform to match their job
listen to a description of what someone does and match it to the right person
sing along with the Rainbow Street theme tune and respond to other music
Find the right person from a series of clues
Children can use the spacebar instead of a mouse if they are not yet able yet to control a mouse.
