Usually great, but this shipment stale.

I have been taking these chewables for several years now and love them. Citrate is my favorite form of calcium, the vitamin D in this product is the natural form, and all of the co-factors are included in the product. I have always liked the taste. Of all my friends who have tried them, about 80% like them and 20% don't.
I swallow a lot of supplements, so it is so nice to be able to chew my calcium, especially since calcium supplements are often pretty good sized tablets/capsules.
Now for the three star rating.... That is only for this particular shipment. Another reviewer was upset about hers being all broken up. Mine were not broken up, but the taste is definitely Not like the ones I get from my regular online company (iherb). And yes, it is exactly the same product. According to the expiration date, the product should still have 1 year, 5 months of good shelf life as of the writing of this review. So I can only assume that the storage of these prior to shipment was faulty. I don't know if they were exposed to extremely warm temperatures or what, but all I can say is that the taste is so stale that I can't take them. My husband will take them though, so at least they won't go to waste.
So bottom line, my rating is averaged at three stars; five stars for the product, one star for the product 'when it comes from this shipper'. If I was the only reviewer with complaints I may have given them the benefit of the doubt. But it seems to me that this particular source is not the best quality. Sorry if this seems nit-picky. If you look at all my reviews you'll see that I am generally pleased by most items.
In the meantime, if you want to try a fresh version of this product you can find it at most health stores, both online and in the real world.

I was excited to see Rainbow Light Calcium Citrate Chocoalate Chewables available on Amazon, and with a price of only $11.99. I generally pay $17.99 from the Whole Foods across town. But when the item arrived and I opened it up, most of the wafers had been crushed in shipping, leaving me a bottle of pieces and powder. While I'm happy about the substantial savings, I'm torn over whether it's worth it considering the condition the product arrived in... or perhaps this was a bit of bad luck, getting a bottle in such rough shape. I'm not sure yet whether I'll buy again.
