Product Description

Product Description
For over 20 years, it delighted kids of all ages. "Rainbow" was a phenomenon; ITV's longest running kids show and the one which gave us the unforgettable Zippy, Bungle, George and Geoffrey. But it was far more than that. The cast of "Rainbow" were megastars who lived the TV dream to the extreme. From their impoverished beginnings as a warm-up act to the madness of fame, celebrity groupies, jewel-encrusted dungarees and tragic Marmite dependency. Now at last the true story can be told, and it will shock children's entertainment to its very core. Welcome to "Rainbow Climbing High" - thirty years of psychedelic mayhem.

About the Author
Mike Anderiesz is the author of the seminal The Little Book of Pot. He lives in North London where he spends his days romping around in his Zippy suit.

5.0 out of 5 stars Remembering Rainbow, 11 Jan 2003
By A Customer
"Rainbow Climbing High" will have you in stitches of laughter. It doesn't miss out a single detail of Rainbow, from when it first started to the present day. Zippy is the main feature of the book (Obviously) and talks about songs that were made up, Geoffrey's private life, George's embarassing moments, Bungle's career as an Agony Aunt and lot's more. I would recomend it to anyone.
