Well it had to happen eventually after the large increase in Retro/Cult childrens television programs appearing on DVD over the last 5 years. Fans of the show kept a faithful lookout for the DVD and when it appeared we were overjoyed!

Rainbow Brite is the guardian of colour and with the help of her horse Starlight, her sprit Twink and the colour kids and various other friends she fights the forces of darkness and brings colour and happiness to the world.

The first DVD has the first 5 episodes on and the picture quality is as good as you'd expect from DVD technology but since the Fox Kids label is a budget brand the sound is of poorer than expected quality.

The program only ran to one season of 13 episodes plus one amimated film- "Rainbow Brite and the Starstealer" and one rather more educational film including actors- "Rainbow Brite in San Diago Zoo"

This DVD is a perfect gift for fans of Cult children's television or little girls who day dream a lot and love horses.
