I grew up in Dublin and being a fan of trains, I had to invest in this book as soon as I saw it. This book is truly stunning. Each Chapter in the book focuses on a different area of the rail system in Dublin. The author takes a very unique approach to writing this book. First you are shown a photo which was taken a few decades ago. The author points out points of reference, bringing an already richly detailed image to life. But then you are shown a second photo (and in some cases, a third), taken from the exact same location, just closer to the present day. Again, the points of reference are pointed out. This approach really is superb and something I found very enjoyable.

The way this book is laid out, really does fill you with awe as you read it. It is amazing to see how rail routes in Dublin have changed over the years. For me, this book was very special in that it was filled with great memories.

If you are a train entusiast, I highly recommend this book.
If you are a train entusiast and grew up in Dublin, this book is a MUST HAVE!

I have never found a book so interesting as I have this one.
