If you like Tomb Raider II you'll love this strategy guide. It has solutions for all the puzzles, bosses, traps, how to find every one of the keys, not to mention sure-fire ways to defeat every level, and tons of pictures of Lara and all the levels.

What made me buy this book is that it was the Official Strategy Guide of Tomb Raider II. I was mistaken. And very disappointed, not to mention.
The graphic illustrations of the book were not clear for the average reader due to the highly pixelized photos (e.g. I couldn't even see the Stone Dragon in the picture). Also, the author may be too comfortable with the game that he was not able to take into consideration the new users; few details were given to achieve a certain objective or reach a certain place. It would have helped if a few objects chanced upon were mentioned for reference. To make it short, buy another guide.
The only salvaging value of this piece is the physical make-up of the book--glossy paper with nice colors.

The Official Strategy Guide for Tomb Raider 2 is a must for helping Lara battle her way through sixteen levels. The book is laid out quite well with detailed descriptions and clear locations about where the three secrets are in each level. However, the pictures taken from the game are low quality and makes it difficult to understand where you are at times.

While I couldn't have finshed the game without the manual, I often spent as much time reading the manual as playing the game. The language in the manual is not very reader-friendly and is replete with mistakes; however, with trial and error and a little common sense, one can discern the book's mistakes and figure out the correct way to go about it.

Yes although the Strategy guide doubled in size It doesn't in any way compare to how well The first book was laid out. One it automatically figured you reviewed the first book and it went over non of the old stuff. Two The practice level at Lara's home, the first book goes really indepth of the training level well maybe not, at least though the first book mentioned it. There was nothing about the hedge maze or the fact the hole training level was updated. To sum up I think the book could have been alot better written, I would go as far as saying you should make a second book one that like the first goes over all the secrets of the game, by first I mean the one for the first game. I would bye it and I think others would as well. Send me some comments, just to let me now what people agree with me on this.

This strategy guide has several errors, such as leaving out some items the baddies carry and too vague or just plain wrong directions. But, still, without this guide, I'd be dead meat. The errors are relatively easy to figure out if you have any brains at all and you can avoid overlooking unmentioned items by searching the bodies of each corpse. And the color pictures were an improvement over the black and white pages of the original Tomb Raider I strategy guide. This book could have had used some improvements, but I'd be stuck in Tomb Raider II forever without it. But if you don't want to fork over the dough, just surf the net. There are literally hundreds of Lara Croft websites, complete with walkthroughs which are better than the book because it is being constantly edited and updated.

The book was mainly a text only book. In many cases the words were hard to connect to the reality of the game. Two examples:1.Near the beginning of the Opera House it took me two days to figure out where I was supposed to jump to to get the ORNATE KEY. 2. In 40 Fathoms, I'm stuck in the section "Moving the Earth." The book says to "notice two holes in the roof ...they lead to different areas." Well my room has three holes, two of which lead to the same area. Also, two of the three are INACCESSABLE! One is so high I can hardly see it! No clue given as to how to get up there. Compared to the pictures only book I bought for the original TombRaider, this Tomb Raider II book is abismal!

First, i would congradulate the authors, they saved my life. Then, I would like to tell them about a mistake they made. On page 32, you said "Using the ramp to catch some serious air is the only way to make it to the Level Exit within the allotted time," not true. After you pull the switch, you never have to get into the boat again. Just simpily swim under the doors and take your time getting to the level exit, if at some time you need to get air (you probably wont) then just get some the bells wont start. As long as you DO NOT go over the ramp in the dark room with the switch, the bells never start.
