A new saga begins in the Bionicle storyline and what none better than to start off with a novel detailing the Raid on Vulcanus on Bara Magna, for the people not knowing what this is, I'll put it in a simple way: Half organic and in-organic beings on a planet called Bara Magna battle in arena who are called Glatorian's and the villagers are called Agori that belong in different tribe's and the being on the cover with the monster is a Bone Hunter who ransack villages for anything that is valuable.
This book details the events of what happens when the Glatorian Gelu stumbles upon the Bone Hunter's plan to annihilate the entire fire tribe village; Vulcanus. Now with difficulty a small band of glatorian's now try to gather other's of their kind to help defend Vulcanus from complete annihilation, but is proving difficult on a war torn planet.
The book makes excellent reading and will keep you glued to the pages as you want to find out what happens on each page and what leads onto the next. Any Bionicle fan will want this but also in general, it makes good addictive reading to any person and I would recommend to all as this also includes the first chapter of Bionicle the Legend Reborn Movie Novelisation.
It's always sad to leave a universe you've grown attached to, but despite this, Raid on Vulcanus does a great job at carrying on the story. I find it misses the themes of the old story, such as the three virtues, but I like the new characters, if not entirely the culture. Also, Gelu is a good character to focus on.
