5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful story has captured Rebecca's heart 31 July 2000
By Elizabeth Moragne - Published on Amazon.com
I surprized my daughter with this book two weeks ago and now we read it almost everyday. She brings up the character's names throughout the day and has grown very attached to her Raggedy Ann doll. I love the illustrations as much, if not more, than she does. I've already purchased two more "My First Raggedy Ann" books for her upcoming birthday. The story of a wishing pebble and especially the character Minky fasinate her.

4.0 out of 5 stars Whimsical 17 Jan 2009

The illustrations, animal friends and Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy make this an appealing story. I don't know how much my 3 yr old grandson really understands the moral of the story. He enjoys having it read to him.

My sister and I read this book many times in our childhood and we adore this story. Our book became lost over the years and we longed to have this story again. I bought this book for my sister and another for myself. Thank you Amazon for offering this book from this wonderful seller.

We didn't get to read this one this year - time constraints - but looking forward to putting it at the top of the list for next year. My students enjoy having a "theme" that our stories revolve around for the week - even though we're not supposed to "teach themes" anymore...(don't get me started). I would actually say these would be good for K-2 as read-alouds. There looks to be a lot of text for my 3-5 year old SpEd kids...their attention span isn't as long. I'm all for introducing kids to the classics - and Raggedy Ann & Raggedy Andy stories fit the bill really well! Great additions to any teacher's personal library - great for parents & grandparents too!
