5.0 out of 5 stars Pure Genius! 5 May 2010
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
Quite why no one has reviewed this incredible album yet is a mystery. A startling modern classic that defies pigeon holing, Radio Silence like all of Cowley's work is revelatory. Mischievous jazz with a wild funky beat that carves up Brubeck with Berg. Every minute is a tasty treat.
Can't be recommended enough.

4.0 out of 5 stars A toe-tapping delight 16 July 2010
Format:Audio CD
Whereas some jazz is of the chin stroking, measured tone variety, the other side of the coin is a joyful, toe-tapping hoot. This CD definitely belongs in the latter camp.
Cowley's piano melds seamlessly with his bass and drum cohorts to reveal a lyrical and exciting unit, well versed in each others strengths. Much of the album is sheer fun and all a treat for the ears. Try the cheeky riffage and raising tempo of `Hug The Greyhound' for example, then finish with the lyricism of the closing track Portal.
This ain't bop but it sure bops along!

5.0 out of 5 stars Even better than 'Loud, louder stop' 26 Aug 2010
Format:Audio CD
Neil Cowley keeps improving and yet he sounds fresh and energetic. You can hear that he is enjoying his play and doing it with fun and fluency you can expect from expert... I bought it together with Aaron Parks `Invisible cinema' and definitely prefer Radio Silence ;)
If you miss Esbjorn Svensson you will find Neil a good successor ;)

4.0 out of 5 stars Good album 2 Jun 2010
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
This is my first foray into modern jazz cds and, after giving the album a few listens, it has grown on me (played it on the long commute this morning, for instance). This musical genre is a bit of a minefield, but with Neil Cowley, I'd say your money's well-spent.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another must have recording! 3 Dec 2013
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
Excellent as ever from the Trio. Every tune is a gem and you can feel the energy oozing from all three of the group - each contributing as much as the others in their own way.
