"Radio! Radio"! is the definitive reference book for most vintage wireless fans. Although it contains few circuit diagrams and little detailed technical information on specific receivers, "RR" is an authoritative history of the development of the radio set, from the earliest days of the valve in the 1920s to the 1960s when the transistor became commonplace.
Logically arranged into decades, the chapters describe how receiver circuits evolved and how some manufacturers flourished whilst others went out of business. The most useful element of the book is undoubtedly the monochrome pictures of several hundred radio sets, and the index section, and whilst "RR" does not show every set that was ever made, it certainly lists the majority of popular sets that the enthusiast is likely to encounter.
A well-researched, well-presented book that is referred to regularly by this enthusiast!
