This is a well made, good quality clock, with a very pleasing clear display. It readily picks up the time signal, and is thus extremely accurate. The time displays CET initially, but this is easily adjusted to BST or GMT as appropriate, which it then maintains. The illumination for the display is easily switched on with the top snooze button, very conveniently located for finding in the dark. The calendar display is useful, showing day, date and month, which is configurable to the UK format of DD/MM which I always personally prefer. The temperature display is an added bonus and seems to be very accurate also. I am very pleased with every aspect of this clock and would highly recommend it.

Pretty Near Perfect 31 Jan 2011
You can probably ignore all the negative comments. I bought this to replace an old Oregon Scientific RM838. I am quite obsessive about having a good alarm as I have to get up exactly on time but I want to be able to use the snooze button and myopically examine the display at night. This has a nice big, very clear, display with a pretty good light operated by the big snooze button on the top. I had to buy this because my nice wife bought me a fancy new Oregon Scientific clock but it was capable of waking the whole household from the racket it made when setting the alarm time. This clock dispenses with all electronic noises when operating it. You just get the noise when you need it - in the morning! So I can tiptoe into bed late and set the alarm without disturbing my beloved.

Yes, it does use a German transmission and so you get European time but it is easy as pie to change it. (It is not an intuitive thing - you have to read the instructions; also available on-line.)

Some of the display items are on the small side but the buttons are ok. After a relatively short time using the functions becomes second nature.

There are some terribly ill thought out products out there. This is definitely above average.

I just bought this clock to replace the Lifemax Atomic Clock (Lifemax Atomic World Travel Alarm Clock) I bought a couple of weeks ago. It's way better, although I've only had it a couple of days. It has 2 alarms, 2 (variable) time zones, and most importantly for me, a back light you can turn on using the big button on top, so I can see it in the morning without turning on the bedroom lights and waking up the missus. The big button is also for the snooze, so much less fiddly than the Lifemax (where the snooze is just one of 5 small buttons on the front). Finally, it is slightly pyramid shaped so it sits stably while you fumble for it in the dark, whereas the lifemax has a more flimsy fold-out stand so I kept knocking it over. German made ergonomics over Chinese will win every time I guess (no offence)....

Do not buy
Do not buy this alarm clock. It is very difficult to set up from scratch, the alarm I had set did not go off, and an alarm went off during the night when I didn't want it. Read more
