Powerful, Potentially Life-changing and World-transforming 26 Oct. 2012
By Kevin W. - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
In this book, author Harvey attempts to bridge mysticism and activism. He lays out the problem. We are hurtling headlong toward apocalypse. The problems are manifold -- rampant consumerism and environmental destruction, corporate greed, and every other blight of the postmodern era. And all the old solutions no longer seem to hold promise. Political change is a dead. Established religions -- those ancient and those merely a few decades old -- seem to get lost in fundamentalism. And New-Agers seem to be looking for some kind of golden enlightenment to come out of the sky as the Mayan Calendar winds down.

Harvey doesn't put his hope in religion, science, politics, or technology. Interestingly, he also doesn't put it in the New Age movement. He is deeply skeptical of the sincerity and depth of its leaders and followers. So DIY-dropout-hippie types like Ed Carlson, I Walked to the Moon and Almost Everybody Waved: The Curiously Inspiring Adventures of a Free Spirit Who Changed Lives, might not appeal to him at all.

This book is about the transformative and revolutionary power of the Divine Feminine. However, unlike so many writers, he does not seek to own this power. He seeks to be transformed by it. And he doesn't propose an easy way. In fact, it appears that he advocates and embraces an ascetic path. We are to word hard to become living instruments of the divine.

This Divine Feminine is not Mom. It's not the ultimate source of instant gratification. And it's not a psychological talisman to ward off whatever feels uncomfortable. It is a dimension of the divine that is generally unexplored in the West. And to be loved by the divine in this way is not easy.

This deeply moving work is Real, Grounded, Powerful and an important treatise on the Divine Feminine. 8 Nov. 2012

I would recommend this to everyone who wants realistic assistance to find their inner power. It cuts through the New Age approach and gets to the heart of what our lives here on earth are about.

A good aggregation 28 Dec. 2012
By Irisheart - Published on Amazon.com

Andrew is very prolific and has many original books, with many of them revolving around the thesis of how important it is to integrate the sacred feminine into our planetary psyche. This book is a collection of talks, speeches and other odds and ends that reinforce this idea. It reflects his grand intelligence and depthful analysis as well as his truly profound soul. While more of a house cleaning than an original work, it still serves to educate, inspire and not so secretly show the genius of a gay soul set free..

Satsang for the Reader 2 July 2013
By Reverend Dr. Nancy Ash - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
Herein is a Satsang, "a meeting of the wise" that arouses deep passion; and, as the title suggests, radical engagement at a critical time in history.

The Founding Father of "Sacred Activism," Andrew Harvey is one of the most powerful voices in our midst. These seven chapters are presented as aspects of sacred love in 550-plus pages of captivating revelry. If knew to the brilliant heart-mind of Harvey's work (one of the greatest mystics of our time) you'll find a treasure chest of inspiring stories, conversations and authentic "wake up!" calls to sacred action. I particularly enjoyed his cutting-edge discussion of The "Golden" Shadow. Any book of Harvey's is quality; he's a poetic gem -- a writer for my Soul.

This multi-faceted journey is a must-read for serious advocates of change, individually and collectively.

Again and again, Andrew Harvey writes passionately of his conviction of putting love and wisdom into Sacred Activism...a critical shift in consciousness and action necessary for our times.
