We're big raclette fans - this is a superior model.
The thing about a raclette is that you can have a really relaxed meal with friends and family grouped around the raclette and sharing the cooking. Pre marinade meats, pre-cook veg or potatoes and reheat with cheese on top - and the meal is a fun thing to have.
The problem with our previous raclette was the limited size of the cooking area. Although theoretcially for 6, it could take a while to cook enough for everyone, especially if using the top plate for larger items... this set up is great - up to 8 people can be accommodated and there are two cooking areas - a teflon one and a stone - so lots more things can be cooked at once. The heat is adjustable too so there can be fast and slower cooking.
Really fun to have and a great addition to get togethers!
