The 70's saw a period where sports cars were competing in classic races like Le mans, Targa Florio, Sebring, Daytona and the Nurburgring. These cars were faster, more powerful and more spectacular than their Grand Prix counterparts of the time. Sports car racing had always followed it's own path and the 70's was a classic era.
During this glorious period drives by the likes of Pedro Rodriguez and Joe Siffert became the stuff of racing folklore. Even today the cars of this period still inspire wonder; the powerful but lightweight Porsche 917 and the massive V8 powered Mcclaren that dominated the famous CAN-AM series were the true legends of the track.
With the use of exciting archive racing footage, interviews and expert commentary this DVD is a must for all fans of Motor Racing.

This DVD promised much, covering as it does some of my all time favourite racing cars. I was a bit disappointed that there wasn't more on the Lola T70 coupe but there was certainly plenty on the Porsche 917! The interviews, particularly with John Wyer, were great and the archive footage was generaly excellent. Unfortunately it was let down by repeated use of the same piece of archive footage to illustrate different times and different occasions. The commentary was also rather uninspiring at times. Overall I would recommend this DVD if you can find it at a good price as you may not want to watch it more than once.
Very nice documentary (at least for those like me that were born in early 80's) very very nice images of Targa Florio and old days of Spa and Monza. Some interesting facts about several Le Mans races as well. Totaly worth it !
