5.0 out of 5 stars Blown away by 'The Bells' 31 Jan 2004
By A Customer
Based on the poem of the same name by Edgar Allan Poe Rachmaninov's 'The Bells' is one of the best choral works in existence. The USSR Symphony Orchestra and choir bring the piece to life in all its dramatic and astounding glory. A truly great buy and something I will never tire of listening to.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great, but... 15 Mar 2010
The performance of The Bells is terrific, committed and well sung with real Russian passion, but the recording on my machine at least sounds very garish and certainly gets in the way of my enjoyment of the disc. If I were buying again, I should probably look elsewhere.
