5.0 out of 5 stars Lovely 19 Mar 2002
By A. Bracewell - Published on Amazon.com
I don't know anything about Dimitri Kharitonov or Leif Ove Andsnes beyond this recording, but whoever they are, I love them! I'd never actually heard any Rachmaninoff songs before I bought this CD, so I won't swear it's the best out there. Nevertheless, I was so inspired by what I heard that I immediately started working on adding Rachmaninoff songs to my own vocal repertoire. Kharitonov's voice is very sweet and pleasant in the more tender songs, and he's wonderfully theatrical and fun in the more aggresive works. The pianist is fantastic, too, and the accompaniment is very passionate. Rachmaninoff songs are beautiful, captivating, moving, and hugely underappreciated. If you've never heard them, this recording is a great way to be introduced.

5.0 out of 5 stars Above and Beyond 26 April 2011

Amazon Verified Purchase
Product received in record time - two days after order placed. Part of stated price proactively refunded by seller because seller when processing my order noticed a flaw which I, to date, have not looked for or noticed. Product is excellent for my purposes. Couldn't be more satisfied. Feel a bit guilty about his refund. He had the product I needed and it is just what I wanted and there was no need for a refund that I can see. He is a real straight shooter!
