Perfect background music for a rainy day, as the title suggests! Whether reading a book, resting, or just plain driving around, this CD is the perfect companion!

Rainy day, boy what an appropriate title 6 April 2001
By Joanna Daneman - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
I don't know what it is about the second Rachmaninoff concerto , but it inevitably reminds me of rain dripping off the leaves of trees. Not that I don't love it, I really do, but it is so evocative of rain that I was very amused by the CD title.

Ashkenazy is particularly good with Rachmaninoff. You can't go wrong with this CD if you love his music.

It's alright 29 Mar 2009

The music is not quite what i expected, i guess i expected something a lot slower and more relaxing (given the title). Something more like my Brahms lullabye CD or my Beethoven at Bedtime CD.This music is more on the romantic side. But since i like Rachmaninov i dont have a problem with it, i'll just listen to it during the day rather than before bed. One song is way too fast and i just skip over that one rather than listen to it. I would describe all the other songs as romantic or movie theme types.
