Bought this book and it was an excellent tie-in to the series on TV. The receipes are easy to follow with wonderful results. I would recommend this to anyone who loves cooking, and trying new and different tastes and textures.

Got this book from the library originaly but enjoyed it so much i ended up buying my own copy! A great many recipies that are very simple to follow and make cooking a joy. Many of the recipes have notes at the end for variations of the basic recipe and helpful tips too. This book covers everthing - starters, main courses, desserts, light lunches, picnic foods, rich cakes and fruity afters. Many are suitable for vegetarians (like me). Loved the Goats Cheese with Rocket and Honey and the Apple Fudge Cake was a big hit in my house too! Definately a must buy for someone with an interest in tasty cooking that doesnt take too much time or effort. Ill be buying more Rachel Allen books.

Excellent range of recipes most of which are not difficult or time consuming to do. Most can be done quite quickly and/or do not need constant supervision or fiddly preparation. Down to earth writing with tips for variations and ways to dress up the recipes for entertaining. Will definately be buying her next book which is already on my wishlist!

The best out of the R Allen books
This is my favourite Rachel Allen book, well used as the pages are stuck together from refering to the recipes. It's very easy to use and the ingredients are easily obtainable. Read more
