This is a very detailed book about the civil rights movement in the USA. It focuses mainly on the african Americans, but also descibes the Indian and hispanic people. it is a very well written book, but is a little complicated. i would strongely recomend this book to anyone who is interested in the subject.

Unlike the reviewer above, I have read more than one book on race and ethnicity and this really is a feeble effort. I find it quite disturbing that this book is published and offered as part of a popular textbook series for History students. I strongly recommend that any student of "race and ethnicity" in America avoids this book and considers any alternative.
