This book is worth buying by any yachtsman who wants fresh fish for the table. If you have ever towed a line behind the boat and wondered why the fish weren't biting, then this is the book for you.
The tips on trolling rigs (involving planer boards and rubber bands) are very clever and I can attest that they work extremely well in the tropics, without getting in the way of the important business of sailing. Following these tips we caught (to the astonishment of my sceptical fellow crew members) wahoo, two species of tuna and two species of barracuda. For a few heart-stopping moments we even had an enormous sailfish following our lure, which luckily it just played with before getting bored. We had sashimi, fish steaks for the barbecue and bait for more fishing while at anchor.
The recommended rigs would also work in the Med and UK waters. Fishing for food adds a whole new dimension to sailing and cruising holidays, so this book is highly recommended.
