More About the Author

I spent most of my life living and traveling the world. I loved every minute of it, especially having the chance to live in England. I'm a newly single mum and working hard on my dream of making a career out of the endless stories that fill my head and hopefully providing a better life for my son. Rook and Raven is just the start of many works to come.

Most days you'll find me either sitting at my desk, with the cats keeping an eye on me as I write, or shuttling my son to his baseball or football (American's would say soccer!)games and all his other activities. My favorite things are my son's infectious laugh, Converse trainers, hats and I have a passion for making soups.

I will look forward to you letting me know what you think of my first work of the trilogy on Amazon and expect a novella in a few months giving Clara and Conal's back story!

Julie

4.0 out of 5 stars A good read 16 Feb. 2015

A very enjoyable book with lots of twists and turns. The plot was revealed bit by bit and it wasn't always obvious where it was going! The only negative comment was that it could do with a proof read as there were quite a few typos, where / wear etc. simple things that were distracting and could have easily been picked up.
However it's still a cracking tale and I look forward to the next part.

5.0 out of 5 stars A twisting tale 3 Jun. 2014

So what can I say about this book? Well for one thing it is not what you expect, whatever you expect. If you’re looking for intrigue and adventure… check. If you’re looking for period romance… check, if you’re looking for fantasy and magic… check, all this and still room for Vikings, witches, Arthurian legend, evil priests, oh and even the battle of Waterloo plays an important part! Certainly this is a book not lacking in story by any means. And what a great story it is, drawing you in and masterfully revealing elements bit by bit until you are left waiting to find out what happens next. So if there was one downside to this book it is that part 2 is not out yet. Come on Julie I want to know what happens next!

5.0 out of 5 stars A real page turner 13 May 2014

This is a compelling story. Viking and Celtic magic and legend are woven into a plot that combines them with a Regency setting, in England. The book would appeal to lovers of historical fiction or fantasy, or to readers like myself, who love a combination of history and fantasy. Historical romance fans would like it, too. The romantic and racy elements are a good read. The characters are so believable, and the story so engrossing, that it was hard to put the book down. A real gem.
