Product Description

Gemma Jones once thought Sal Gabrini could be a keeper. He was, in truth, the man of her dreams. But after she didn’t hear from him when he had promised to stay in touch, she wasn’t thinking about him either.

Even when she travels to his turf, to Seattle, to attend a stuffy lawyer’s convention, she’s bound and determined not to give Sal a second thought. The fact that she had refused his sexual advances probably had everything to do with why he didn’t follow up with her, and she understands that. But that understanding only makes her all the more determined to keep him at arm’s length. She might have been known for her slamming body, but that didn’t mean she wants the man of her dreams to only want her for that body.

But the convention turns out to be so boring that Trina, her friend and business partner, encourages her to give the man a call. If nothing else he can show her the town and ramp down the boredom, her friend insists. So against her better judgment, Gemma phones him. When he doesn’t return her voice mail message later that night, she wants to kick herself for even bothering.

Hunky businessman Sal Gabrini arrives back in town after a trip to Jersey. When he sees where the gorgeously exotic Gemma Jones has left him a message, he realizes how much he actually misses her. He shows up at her hotel, catching her off guard, and that one proactive move takes the pair of would-be lovers on the most tumultuous, yet sexually and emotionally gratifying rollercoaster ride of their lives.

Sal has to decide if he is willing to risk it all for the love of a good woman, and Gemma has to decide if a player like Sal Gabrini can ever truly change and become the man she will need him to be. Their tempers flare, their personalities clash, but their love for each other becomes the cornerstone that could actually make their relationship work.

In the first book by bestselling author Mallory Monroe that focuses on Tommy’s younger brother Sal, ROMANCING SAL GABRINI is an interracial romance that takes the readers on a compelling journey of love, sex, and tears.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not believable.... 27 Dec 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I know...I know... these books/stories are supposed to be a bit of escapism but I at least want to believe that it could (in my wildest fantasies) happen... if I was really lucky or hit my head hard enough lol.

I was really looking forward to reading about the hard around the edges Sal Gabrini but he written like a stereotypical ‘New York’ I-talian complete with cotton wool in his cheeks....Also on what planet would you get a kick-azz lawyer co-owning and working when she can in a clothing boutique on the wouldn’t happen. I know she had to fit Trina in somewhere but this really didn't work for me.

I'm new to this genre (BWWM) and I'm not african american, but I am a black woman.

I loved how well developed the characters were, and since this is my first book, by this author I realised reading this book that it would be helpful for me to read the other books in the series to fully get a grip of the characters.

I loved Gemma and her strong, no nonsense personalty, but also her willingness to give into Sal.

I'm glad the issue of race was addressed, because so far in this genre I've found it's not been touched upon, and it's not realistic to expect there to be no discussions on this subject.

The I didn't give the book 5 stars because there were far too much uses of colloquialisms that I don't think suit Sals' character. e.g "He didn't play that" I mean, c'mon I find it hard to believe that this would be an Italian American's speech formation.

I also found Sal to be a little too domineering for my tastes and the him starting a fight just to proove he's a man was kinda crass. It left me turned off by him.

Aside form that I did like this book a lot.

5.0 out of 5 stars BWWM Romance 1 Aug 2013
By tory's romance - Published on

Ms. Monroe let me thank you for writing a true BWWM romance. So many times when I am reading a interracial romance it seems the black woman is describe to be so light that she can change colors when she blush and they have hair and eye colors like white women. And yes we have black women that have light skin no problem with that I just do not see them with light skin, color eyes and long straight hair as much as it is written in interracial romance which make me wonder where some of these authors are living at. I am not saying the woman has to be black as night but if she is that is ok too, but if I wanted to read about a white woman romance I would not be looking in the African American romance. Thank you for writing about a black strong and educated black woman. I enjoyed Sal and Gemma story I only wish it was longer and I look forward to reading more in regards to this couple. I would recommend this book for anyone who wanted to read a good BWWM romance.

Mallory, Mallory, do you do it? This series just keeps getting better and better. Right now Sal is seriously rivalling Reno for my affection.

The chemistry between Sal and Gemma is so tangible, it pops right off the page. Two strong individuals. I believe Gemma will become like Trina - ride or die! The characters of Sal and Gemma are so well developed and fleshed out, it's amazing. This speaks to Ms Monroe's ability not only as a writer but also as a storyteller!

In future books, I'd like to see more of Sal's and Tommy's father Benny - he is one piece of work. Maybe even their mother as well.

Now to Tommy and Grace...some sort of serious drama is going on there and even though I've just engorged myself on 'Romancing Sal Gabrini', I'm craving more. Ms Monroe please don't make me wait too long! I'm now back to stalking your website!

5.0 out of 5 stars ROMANCING SAL GABRINI...DELIVERED IN SPADES!!!! 1 Aug 2013

Ms.Monroe "Romancing Sal Gabrini" did not disappoint; you created a professional woman with "Gemma with a G" character and you delivered from the inception of the novel until its conclusion. Kudos to you for allowing Gemma to know her self-worth and acting accordingly!

We know that the Gabrini men fight hard, and they love equally as hard, and Sal is no exception. You gave us a glimpse into Sal's life so that we could see where his "hardness" comes from, and you tore away his bravado and exposed his vulnerability, as part of his transformation.

I love that Sal does not take himself too seriously and he owned up to his shortcomings, which forced Gemma to acknowledge hers as well. Sal is never going to be a saint, but this is what makes him unique and such a great character.

Sal and Gemma make a dynamo couple and I look forward to reading about them as they embark on their journey together. I also envisioned Tommy with a type of woman with Gemma's strength. Ms. Monroe, in my opinion, this book is truly one of your best; you gave us a well told story without a lot of histrionics.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Gabrini With The Biggest Heart 4 Aug 2013
By Reader's Bug - Published on
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Good to know that Sal's not a racist in fact he turns out to be the Gabrini with the biggest heart. Along with his surliness Sal is also caring unlike his brother Tommy Sal shares his past with Gemma. He introduces her to his father Benny who he shares a love/hate relationship with. I found Sal to be the most open of all the Gabrini men and also the most misunderstood. This was a good honest read that I believe you're gong to love.
