This pistol grip is great- it allows you to feed wire through it for ease of use, and hold the microphone snuggly whilst simultaneously minimising shock, therefore sustain a good quality sound, not interfered with by user motion. It's well made, and has a handy quick release system allowing you to quickly adjust the angle of the microphone on the fly. The only minor downfall this has is that the rubber mount was not securely screwed onto the main pistol grip body, meaning it came loose halfway through a shoot, and could not be screwed back on until later when I had access to an alan key. Whilst this may have been an unlucky situation, and was easily solvable, it was frustrating at the time. But in general, a good product.

This is sturdy, versatile and easy to use. It is light so it does not add a lot of weight to the end of the boom pole (I also highly recommend using with rode boom). And I love having a shock mount that can serve at the end of a boom or as a pistol grip. I've just listened to the sound captured from my first shoot and I have a lesser expensive Azden mic and the sound has ZERO handling noise. This is the best addition to my sound kit and I don't know how I lived without it so long.

This pistol grip comes with not one, but two different shock mounts for mics of different sizes. One mount supports mics of 21-22.5mm diameter (which works great for my Sennheiser ME66 with K6 power module) and the other for mics of 19-20mm diameter. The angle of the mic in relation to the pistol grip is easily and quickly adjustable. The cable is nicely maintained inside the pistol grip. You can mount it to a mic stand or a boom pole since it has female threads for such use, and overall it doesn't add a lot of weight.
