The sequel to stunning debut novel "Hell's Belles", in this book Jesse Harris (aka Jezebel); the ex soul stealing succubus now a mortal with her own soul, has moved in with the love of her life; Vice cop Paul Hamilton. Yet whilst Jesse is still trying to keep off Hell's radar, an awful lot of "old friends" are determined she return. Unable to coax, terrify or seduce her into returning willingly, someone starts to play extremely dirty. When Paul's soul is illegally taken to Hell, Jesse finds herself arranging her own death so she can follow him. Returning to her old haunting ground she is soon dealing with familiar enemies whilst attempting to rescue her lover and her best friend.
Angel, the um Angel is introduced and makes if clear that her new job as a Seducer is far from suitable for her virginal nature; her ambitions firmly lying in the Heavenly Choir area. Unfortunately Archangel Michael, the Viceroy of Heaven and now the new King of Hell is establishing new laws in the Underworld and after obliterating several high ranking demons, no one appears to be objecting to his rather bad ideas. Yet if it means getting Paul's soul back safely in the mortal realm, Jesse will take on the Ruler of Hell himself even if it damns her own soul for eternity. There's no denying there is plenty of sex in this book; however when dealing with the creatures of Hell plus an ex-succubus turned exotic dancer (well a girl still needs her fix of lust even if she's no longer a working demon) what can you expect. Incubus Daunuan (Daun) makes several significant appearances, determined to get his hands on Jesse's soul (and any parts of her anatomy he can snag a feel) and in fact he gets his own story later this year when book 3 "Hotter than Hell" is released in August. Jesse again is a creature of total contradictions; a likeable demon with hugely questionable morals. Although totally in love with Paul she is required to perform certain deeds which could constitute as unfaithful and even before Paul's life is threatened she almost falls under the seductive spell of Daun on several occasions. Yet you've got to admire a girl who would not only go to Hell and back (quite literally) to get her man but also call the powerful Queen of Hell a "skanky ho" whilst trying to bash her brains out.

I really enjoyed this book, the whole series is great fun & very new - not like every other dark fantasy book out there. Very imaginative & a wickedly sharp lead character.

Here in the second book of Jackie's series, our heroine has a monumental task ahead of her so what does she do but knuckle down and kick some demon butt however whilst many would literally do this in a beat down sort of sense, Jackie's hero does it with brain power. It's a nice turn up and its definitely something that made her stand out to us as readers. Back that up with more kickass one liners, a fast paced plot as well as an imaginative version of hell and you know that its going to be good.
Finally with the series all set now for a climactic conclusion in the third part out next month, we really can't wait to see what Jackie has lined up next. "Look Sir, demons, bloody thousands of them.."
