I feel you can always judge the quality of a reference book by how longs it remains relevant to your interest. I have only been gardening for about 12 months, and the book is as relevant and informative now as it was a year ago when I first started. What is even better is that I can always see the book being useful, even when I am retired in my vegetable patch! The price although not cheap at first impression, represents amazing value for money (especially when purchased through Amazon), and not only will it last you a lifetime, it may pay for itself in the first few weeks, as it did me, by preventing me making some costly mistakes. Unlike some other gardening books I have read, this one remains highly relevant to the average gardener, and communicates the information at a level that is accessible by all, beginners or experts. A reference book is not really a just title for the book though, as not only does it guide and inform, but it also inspires. Highly recommended.
