I've been wiring up an old TV and AV amp in my son's playroom so he can play Wii and PS3 without hogging the TV in our living room. I had loads of interconnects in a box in the shed but, when it came to wall mounting the TV, I found the component cable I had wasn't quite long enough.
First thing I did was pop down our local retail park to see whether they had one in stock at C*rrys, C*met and Arg*s (names obscured to protect the guilty). What they had available was either too short (1.5m to 2m) or/and vastly more expensive (£20 to £40) than I wanted to pay. I get the impression the major electrical stores want to sell ridiculously overpriced cables to bump up the profit margin when selling TVs.
When I got back home I checked on Amazon and found this cable going for a fiver, including delivery. I ordered it and it arrived next day. 2 minutes connecting it between the AV Amp and TV and everything was working perfectly, with enough slack in the cable to make a tidy job of the cable run.
Tip: The cable is suitable for carrying component VIDEO signal and does not carry audio. I didn't need to send audio to the TV because the audio is running through the AV amp. If you want to run audio to the TV you'll need an RCA audio lead (red and white plugs) or, if your device has it, a Toslink optical audio cable could be used.
