4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent value MP3 18 July 2010
Verified Purchase
This comes with earphones and a lanyard, so you have everything you need with it. And in terms of use you just plug it into USB at the back of your PC, go to itunes or download an MP3 straight to your desktop, then just drag the itunes icon or desktop icon over the players folder..it copies it fast and hey presto. the sound quality is very good.

Personally i really didn't need more than 1Gb (use it to listen to podcasts and it can store more than i could listen to in any given week/month - not managed to fill it ever as i tend to delete stuff after listening). There is i think a 2gb one, but this is one of those things...imo go for a cheap one like this to start with, if you fill it up and need a bigger one...go for it, i've not filled it up.

The only downside with this is the controls are simple - you just flick between tracks/podcasts, and increase or decrease the volume. It has play/pause on the side, and if you pause and turn off one good thing is it does save where you were paused when you switch it on and continue (useful with long podcasts). One thing it doesn't seem to have is FFWD/RWD, though this may just involve holding the track select button down (i don't know, not tried, but it's not clear).

worth getting.

5.0 out of 5 stars Does what it says on the tin 1 July 2010

I obtained one of these and have used it for listening to music whilst commuting on the underground. It's very simple use and plays beautiful music.

4.0 out of 5 stars what a bargain 18 Sep 2010
By Ian
I bought this and I like it. Amazing for the price. If you sit on it, buy another one.

Simple controls and so simple to operate. Just stick the USB into your PC, transfer your music and off you go. It comes with headphones which you can afford to replace if you feel they're no good - I think they're fine for the price. They even give you a lanyard and battery. What a bargain.

Ok, it's not an IPod. I've got an Ipod but I'm scared to take it on holidays in case it gets stolen or I leave it somewhere.

2.0 out of 5 stars Cheap but not so Cheerful! 11 Sep 2010
By D. Lee
Okay, it's definitely at the budget end of the market but I've real issues with this product. The overall 'feel' of it appears quite good but the build quality is very poor, especially the 'on/off' and 'lock' buttons. I bought this primarily for listening to audio books rather than music and, as a consequence of the 'on' light flashing at 1 sec intervals there's a seriously annoying hiss-hiss-hiss .. obviously caused by, and in time with, the flashing light. I've now given up and resorted to music only. Sound quality is so-so and headphones poor quality although I can live with that given it's price. Sorry, can't recommend it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for the price! 11 Aug 2010
I'm really pleased with this MP3 player. If I'm honest, I wasn't expecting much because of the price, however seeing as its cost is a drop in the ocean compared to most MP3 players, I thought I'd give it a try. It turns out it is a great little device with great clarity of sound. It's low on features but high on quality, very easy to use with a simple back/forward, volume up/down, cross button system. It is plug and play so you can just slot it into a USB port and drag and drop files. Also if you format it to NTFS it works as a regular flash drive. It has a really nice, sleek look with the silver buttons contrasting nicely with the black frame of the device plus the name and logo are interesting. The box features the player, a set of earphones and a lanyard. Personally I have no use for these accessories but it's a nice bundle for 7.99

I'd say it is a player for casual use or strictly listening to audio because it doesn't have many features, basically you can switch between continuous and random/shuffle play modes, which can get a little annoying as it's done by holding down the volume buttons, and there is a cool hold button which ceases the functions of the other buttons. Other than those two things it doesn't do much else than play music or store files but what do you expect for the price. On a side note, I had a little trouble getting the songs to play in the order I put them in but after formatting the player they seem to be playing correctly now.

It's early days yet, so time will tell if it will last long which I would say is one of the most important things, I'm considering buying another one as a spare just in case.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Value. Works well. 22 Jan 2011

I was after a quick simple way of listening to podcasts when I do jobs around the house or commute on the train. This is an ideal solution, I can save the downloads quickly and very simply. It's very handy that your position is saved when you stop or pause. The Reddmango is very good value and does what is supposed to.

4.0 out of 5 stars Inaccurate info 16 Sep 2011
Verified Purchase
This MP3 is easy to use with an up and down volume button and next song or back to previous song button. You just plug it into the computer and drag and drop, no need for software. The sound quality is fine. This MP3 is nothing fancy but if it's just for occasional use it's fine. The description reads that it holds up to 1000 songs/MP3, though it doesn't mention average song length, however, I have only been able to fit in 100 songs varying between 3 and 5 mins long. Not pleased about this incorrect information! I still give it 4 stars as I find it easy to use, as does my mum and 7 year old nephew unlike other MP3's which have required software and had fiddly buttons.
