This comes with earphones and a lanyard, so you have everything you need with it. And in terms of use you just plug it into USB at the back of your PC, go to itunes or download an MP3 straight to your desktop, then just drag the itunes icon or desktop icon over the players folder..it copies it fast and hey presto. the sound quality is very good.
Personally i really didn't need more than 1Gb (use it to listen to podcasts and it can store more than i could listen to in any given week/month - not managed to fill it ever as i tend to delete stuff after listening). There is i think a 2gb one, but this is one of those things...imo go for a cheap one like this to start with, if you fill it up and need a bigger one...go for it, i've not filled it up.
The only downside with this is the controls are simple - you just flick between tracks/podcasts, and increase or decrease the volume. It has play/pause on the side, and if you pause and turn off one good thing is it does save where you were paused when you switch it on and continue (useful with long podcasts). One thing it doesn't seem to have is FFWD/RWD, though this may just involve holding the track select button down (i don't know, not tried, but it's not clear).
worth getting.
