These gloves look stylish and have an interesting velcro wrist closure...I essentially decided to buy these because they looked pretty funky. I've had them for a few weeks now and so far, I'm not impressed...
One of the most important things workout gloves have to be is comfortable and these just aren't. It's hard to tell if the palms are full leather because a (what feels like) plastic covering is stitched over the top; I imagine to make them more hard wearing. Unfortunately, it's so stiff (and still stiff after several weeks of workouts) that gripping a bar is painful as the hard plastic digs into the top part of the palm of your hand. Not only that, the fingers are slightly too short...especially the little finger and I actually have hard skin developing on the little finger of my left hand WHILST I've been wearing these gloves. I mean, if they can't even protect your skin, what's the point?
They're about six pounds cheaper than my last workout gloves which were Ocelot's and very hard wearing, not to mention extremely comfortable...I suppose you get what you pay for. From a sizing perspective, I normally wear medium but as these were an unknown quantity, I purchased MEDIUM and LARGE with the intention of returning whichever size I felt wasn't right - I ended up keeping the medium and feel it was the right choice.
A final note...the first couple of workouts were OK but now, each session results in black/blue dye from the inside of the gloves staining my hands and it's not that easy to get off. Overall, I wouldn't buy these again.
